Awful A27 claims another local life

Following on from the positive meeting at Westminster last week when Chamber Chief, Christina Ewbank, Eastbourne's Prospective MP, Cllr Caroline Ansell and I met new Roads Minister, Robert Goodwill MP to discuss long overdue improvements to the A27 between Polegate and Lewes, it was sad to hear that yet another motorist lost their life on the road during rush hour traffic on Monday evening.

Earlier today it was revealed that the motorist in question was 57 year old Peter Sinden of Old Town. Peter was a former customer of mine that I had known for a number of years. A keen motoring enthusiast and fan of MG sports cars, Peter was a gentle man with a great sense of humour who will be missed by his family and the local MG enthusiast community.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to Peter's family and friends at this difficult time and his passing will strengthen my resolve to continue doing all I can to ensure that this road is upgraded in the future.
