Several more people signed the Government e-Petition this week but we need many many more to achieve our aim of a debate in Parliament so please click on the link below and sign and encourage all your friends, family and work colleagues to do the same:

The campaign Facebook page went live at www.facebook.com/UpgradeA27Now and this will be used to promote news and related articles and keep people up to date. Please log on and 'Like' the page.
The campaign website went live yesterday at www.upgradeA27now.wordpress.com and this will also be another forum for campaign updates and publication of endorsements and related information. The content is pretty scarce at the moment but will increase in the coming weeks as time permits.
Thanks to three of my Eastbourne Councillor colleagues, Annabelle West, David Elkin and Tom Liddiard for providing endorsement comments, these were used during the week to promote the e-Petition and generated more signatures and interest via social media of the campaign. This is open to everyone so regardless of who you are, if you feel strongly about upgrading the A27, please let us know why it's important to you and if your business depends on the A27, we'll be happy to give it a mention too with a link to your website.
Lastly but by no means least, I heard from the new Police & Crime Commissioner for Sussex, Katy Bourne. Katy has as you can imagine been very busy since taking up her new role but she has already found time to start researching the road safety statistics for this stretch of A27 which we will publish as soon as they are available and Katy is keen to do anything else she can to support the campaign.
More to follow next week, drive carefully!
